The GTO is a comprehensive analysis that identifies and evaluates significant, disruptive technology trends that will lead to industry changing products and services over a three- to seven -year period. IBM Research considers the societal and business applications in which these technologies could be used – and the impact that they will have on IBM and the world. The GTO has a history of influencing IBM’s business and the Information Technology (IT) industry .In the last half century there have been three major waves of technology that have defined computing in the enterprise. Today we have reached a new inflection point and sit on the cusp of a fourth wave. Cognitive Computing This wave is characterized by the confluence of social, mobile and cloud technologies, the riseof Big Data and the new kinds of analytics needed to create value in thisenvironment. The GTO 2014 focuses on System of Insight , confluence of System of record and system of engagement , which is transforming the way companies will deliver services to billions of users. Michel Teyssedre : Chief Technology Officer, IBM France.

Michel Teyssedre is the Chief Technology Officer for IBM France & member of the Steering Board of IBM France.

His role is to help our customers innovate & improve their productivity by benefiting from collaboration with our research centers & IBM brands innovation. He is IBM official speaker on IT subjects.

Before his job as a CTO, M. Teyssedre was responsible for IBM France of the POWER & Industry System, 2008/2009. From 2005 to 2007, he was the Business Development Vice President for South Europe. He developed hardware & HPC business (High Performance Computing) with big companies

From 2002 to 2005, he was the EMEA (Europe Middle East Africa) Vice President in Strategic Business Development. He was in charge of launching LINUX for IBM Europe (1B$ objective), the HPC and the Grid Computing (Cloud’s precursor). Before that, he was the Worldwide Sales Director of the IBM servers for the telecommunication sector, in 2000 and 2001. From 1997 to 2000, M. Teyssedre was the EMEA Director of the UNIX Business unit which has a turnover of 1,2B$.

Before his 38 years as an IBMer, M. Teyssedre was graduated in 1975 from a French school named ISEP (Institut Supérieur d’Electronique de Paris).
